Bartlett is a small city located in the state of Texas, United States. It's unique because it sits across two different counties: Bell County and Williamson County. In 2020, about 1,633 people lived there.
Because Bartlett is in two counties, it's also part of two larger city areas. The part in Bell County is near Killeen and Temple. The part in Williamson County is closer to Austin and Round Rock. Bartlett is famous for its old buildings from the late 1800s and early 1900s. It has even been a filming location for movies like The Stars Fell on Henrietta and The Newton Boys, plus the TV show Revolution.

Railroad History in Bartlett
Starting in 1909, Bartlett was an important center for the Bartlett-Florence Railway. This railway later became known as the Bartlett Western Railroad. It connected Bartlett to Florence, Texas, which was a hub for processing cotton. However, this railway line stopped operating in 1935.
Bartlett's Baseball Team
From 1914 to 1915, Bartlett had its own minor league baseball team called the Bartlett Bearcats. They played in the Class D level Middle Texas League. A very famous player, Hall of Famer Ross Youngs, even played for the Bartlett Bearcats in 1915!

Bartlett is about 24 miles (39 km) south of Temple. It's also about 50 miles (80 km) northeast of downtown Austin. The city is split between Bell and Williamson counties. Most of the city center is in Bell County, but a slightly larger part of its total area is in Williamson County.
The city covers about 1.24 square miles (3.2 square kilometers). Only a tiny bit of this area, about 0.004 square miles (0.01 square kilometers), is water.
