Basile is a small town in Louisiana, a state in the United States. It is located across two different areas called parishes: Acadia Parish and Evangeline Parish. In 2020, about 1,214 people lived there.

The part of Basile that is in Acadia Parish is considered part of the larger Crowley area.

Basile's Location and Size

Basile is found at specific map coordinates: 30.485148 degrees North and -92.600589 degrees West.

Most of the town is in Evangeline Parish. Only a small part in the south is in Acadia Parish.

U.S. Highway 190 goes right through Basile. If you travel west, you'll find the towns of Elton (about 7 miles away) and Kinder (about 16 miles away). To the east, Eunice is about 11 miles away. The city of Jennings, which is the main town for Jefferson Davis Parish, is about 23 miles south. You can get there by taking LA-97, which meets U.S. 190 east of Basile.

The United States Census Bureau says that Basile covers a total area of about 3.0 square kilometers (or 1.16 square miles). All of this area is land.
