A Look at Bellwood's History
Bellwood's story began in 1806. That's when Edward Bell moved here. He came with his wife, mother, and father, John Bell.
Edward's son, Martin Bell, was also important. He started the Sabbath Rest Foundry. This was a metal factory in Antis Township. It was called "Sabbath Rest" because Martin invented a way to keep the fires burning. This meant no one had to work on Sundays.
