Belmont-Broye is a town (called a municipality) in Switzerland. It is located in the Broye district, within the canton of Fribourg. This town was created on January 1, 2016. It was formed when four smaller towns – Domdidier, Dompierre, Léchelles and Russy – joined together.

Belmont-Broye itself is a new town. However, the places that joined to form it have a long history!
How Old Are Its Parts?
- Domdidier was first written about between 1157 and 1162. Back then, it was called Donno Desiderio.
- Dompierre was first mentioned in records in 1137. It was known as Donperre.
- Léchelles appeared in writings in 1243 as Leschieres. This town used to have a German name, Leitern, but it is not used anymore.
- Russy was first mentioned in 1228. It was called Rusie.

The Domdidier and Dompierre FR stations are on the Palézieux–Lyss line. The Léchelles station is on the Fribourg–Yverdon line. From these stations, you can easily travel to other cities. There are regular trains to places like Lausanne, Kerzers, Fribourg/Freiburg, and Yverdon-les-Bains.
