Missy is a small town, also called a municipality, located in Switzerland. It's found in the Vaud canton, which is like a state, and is part of the Broye-Vully area.

Missy's Past: A Look at Its History

Missy was first written about in official papers way back in 1148. Back then, it was called Missiacum. Later, in 1183, its name changed slightly to de Missiaco. For a while, it was also known by its German name, Missach.

Missy's Location and Land Use

Missy covers an area of about 3.11 square kilometers (which is about 1.2 square miles). A big part of this land, about 84%, is used for farming. This means there are lots of fields for growing crops.

About 3% of Missy's land is covered by forests. The rest, about 10%, has buildings and roads. A tiny bit, 1%, is made up of rivers or lakes.

Missy used to be part of the Payerne District. But in 2006, it became part of the newer Broye-Vully area. The town itself is shaped like a long line, which is why it's called a linear village.

Missy's Coat of Arms

Every town has a special symbol, like a logo, called a coat of arms. Missy's coat of arms is split into two halves. One side is silver (or white), and the other is red. In the middle, there's a big letter "M". The cool thing is, the "M" changes color depending on which half it's on. So, the part of the "M" on the silver side is red, and the part on the red side is silver.
