Where is Ben Vorlich Located?

Ben Vorlich is found in the southern part of Scotland's Highlands. It sits between two beautiful lochs, which are Scottish lakes. To its north is Loch Earn, and to its west is Loch Lubnaig. The town of Callander is located to the south of the mountain.

How to Climb Ben Vorlich

Many people enjoy hiking up Ben Vorlich. The most common way to climb it starts from a place called Ardvorlich, which is to the north of the mountain.

  • Starting the Climb: A clear path leads up a valley called Glen Vorlich.
  • Reaching the Ridge: This path then turns towards the mountain's northern ridge.
  • To the Top: The summit of Ben Vorlich is about 4 kilometers (2.5 miles) from Ardvorlich.

Continuing Your Hike

After reaching the top of Ben Vorlich, many hikers choose to continue their adventure.

  • Neighboring Peak: They often walk to a nearby hill called Stùc a' Chroin.
  • Connecting Ridge: You can reach Stùc a' Chroin by following Ben Vorlich's southwest ridge.
  • Returning to Ardvorlich: It's possible to return to Ardvorlich without climbing Ben Vorlich again. A path goes from the low point between the two hills, around Ben Vorlich's northwestern side, and connects back to the main path you used to go up.
