Berry Hill is a cool mountain in western Massachusetts. It stands about 2,200 feet (670 meters) tall. You can find it in the Taconic Mountains range.

This mountain is part of Pittsfield State Forest. A short trail from a park road leads to its top. Nearby, you can find the Taconic Crest Trail and the Taconic Skyline Trail. These are great for hiking and other outdoor fun.

Berry Hill is famous for its wild azalea flowers. These beautiful plants bloom in big fields. The mountain's slopes are covered with northern hardwood forest trees.

A road loops almost all the way around the top of Berry Hill. There's also a campground nearby for summer visitors. Berry Pond is close by, sitting on a ridge. It's thought to be the highest natural pond in Massachusetts.

Where is Berry Hill Located?

Berry Hill is found in Hancock, Massachusetts. It's part of a long ridgeline. To the south, this ridge continues as Berry Mountain. To the north, it becomes Honwee Mountain.

Water Flowing from the Mountain

Water from the west side of Berry Hill flows into Berry Pond Creek. This creek then joins Wyomanock Creek. Eventually, this water reaches the Hudson River and then Long Island Sound.

Water from the east side of the mountain goes into Lulu Creek. This creek flows into Lake Onota. From there, the water joins the Housatonic River. Finally, it also reaches Long Island Sound.
