Bioley-Orjulaz was once a small town, or municipality, located in the Gros-de-Vaud District in the Vaud canton of Switzerland. It was a part of the country's many local governments.
However, on July 1, 2021, Bioley-Orjulaz joined with the nearby town of Assens. This means it is no longer a separate municipality.

History of Bioley-Orjulaz
The area of Bioley-Orjulaz has a long history. The name Orjulaz was first written down in the 12th century. This was a very long time ago!
Later, in 1516, the name Biolley orjeux was used. This shows how the name of the town changed over hundreds of years.

Bioley-Orjulaz covered an area of about 3.11 square kilometers (which is about 1.2 square miles). A large part of this land was used for farming. About 70% of the area was farmland.
