Blaine Elwood Bishop III was born on July 24, 1970. He is a former professional football player. Blaine played as a safety in the National Football League (NFL). He is best known for his time with the Tennessee Titans. The Houston Oilers picked him in the 1993 NFL draft.

Blaine Bishop's Early Life and College Football

Blaine Bishop grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana. He went to Cathedral High School and graduated in 1988. After high school, he played college football. He first played at St. Joseph's College. Later, he moved to Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana.

College Achievements

At Ball State, Blaine was a very good player. He was chosen for the All-Mid-American Conference Second-team. This happened in 1990 as a sophomore and again in 1992 as a senior. In his senior year, his team chose him as their captain. During his college career, Blaine made 243 total tackles. He also had 13 pass breakups and 15 tackles for loss. He recorded 12 sacks, one interception, and one blocked kick.

Blaine Bishop's NFL Career

The Houston Oilers drafted Blaine Bishop in 1993. He was the 214th player chosen overall. This was in the eighth round of the 1993 NFL draft. Blaine had a very successful career in the NFL.

Playing for the Oilers and Titans

Blaine became known as one of the best hitting safeties in the NFL. He played for the Oilers, who later became the Tennessee Titans. He was chosen for the Pro Bowl four times. These years were 1995, 1996, 1997, and 2000. He was also named an All-Pro player three times. This happened in 1995, 1996, and 2000.

In 1999, Blaine and the Titans reached Super Bowl XXXIV. Blaine started in this big game. However, they lost to the Kurt Warner-led St. Louis Rams.

Today, Blaine co-hosts a radio show in Nashville. It's called "Cover 2 with Blaine and Zach." He hosts it with Zach Lyons on WGFX "104.5 the Zone." You can listen to it every weekday afternoon. Blaine also coaches football. He is the defensive coach at Davidson Academy. This is a private high school in Nashville.

On Tennessee Titans game days, you can hear Blaine on the radio. He is part of the Titans Radio pre-game and post-game broadcast team. You can find this on WGFX "104.5 the Zone" and other stations.
