Blair Drummond is a small village in Scotland. It's about 5 miles (8 km) northwest of Stirling. You'll find it mostly along the A84 road. The River Forth is to its south. This area is part of the Stirling region.

Discovering Blair Drummond's Past
Blair Drummond has a long and interesting history. People have lived here for thousands of years. We know this from amazing discoveries made in the area.
Ancient Finds: Wheels and Gold
In 1830, something very old was found in Blair Drummond. It was part of a wooden wagon wheel. This wheel dates back to the Bronze Age, between 1260 and 810 BC. It is the oldest preserved wheel ever found in Scotland!
Even more recently, in 2009, four gold necklaces were discovered. These necklaces are called Stirling torcs. They are from the Iron Age, dating from 300 to 100 BC. These beautiful gold items are now kept safe in the Museum of Scotland.
Blair Drummond House and Lord Kames
Blair Drummond House is a very important building in the area. In 1766, a famous Scottish thinker named Lord Kames lived there. He was known for his ideas during the Scottish Enlightenment.
Lord Kames helped change the land around Blair Drummond. He turned wet, boggy areas into good farmland. This made the land much more useful for growing crops.
Blair Drummond House was rebuilt twice after Lord Kames' time. It was rebuilt in 1868-72 and again in 1921-23 after a fire. Today, it is a special home for adults with learning disabilities. It is run by the Camphill Movement.

Blair Drummond is famous for the Blair Drummond Safari Park. It's a popular place where you can see many different animals. There is also a caravan park for campers. It is located in the old walled garden of Blair Drummond House.
