Early Life and Music Beginnings

Robert Clifton Brackins III was born on September 14, 1988. When he was a baby, his family moved to East Oakland, California, where he was raised. His father owned a music studio, so Brackins grew up around music and famous artists.

He didn't get serious about making his own music until high school. He met music producer Nic Nac through a friend. Brackins discovered he was good at writing lyrics and melodies, while Nic Nac was great at making the background music, called instrumentals. They started making music together.

After high school, Brackins attended San Jose State University. He later moved to Los Angeles, California, to focus on his music career.

Music Career

Starting with Go Dav

Brackins's music career started with a group he formed with friends called "Go Dav". The group won a radio contest, and their song "Ride Or Die..." started getting played on the radio. The song also became very popular on the social media site MySpace. After a while, the group decided to split up.

Becoming a Solo Artist

After moving to Los Angeles, Brackins worked with many other artists and producers, including Ray J, Pia Mia, and YG. He released his own projects, called mixtapes, to share his music.

His big break as a solo artist came with his single "143," which featured Ray J. The song's success helped him get a record deal with Universal Republic Records. While with the label, he released another single called "I'm Ready."

Success as a Songwriter

Brackins eventually left Republic Records and signed with a smaller label called Tycoon Status Entertainment. He continued to write amazing songs for other famous artists.
