Boitumelo Thulo (born April 28, 1990), known as Boity, is a famous South African TV star, rapper, actress, businesswoman, and model. In 2019, Forbes Africa magazine named her one of their "30 Under 30" young leaders. This was because of her great work in music and entertainment.
Boity became well-known after she released her first song, "Wuz Dat?", in 2018. It featured the artist Nasty C. In 2020, she signed a music deal with Def Jam Africa. She then released her music collection called 4436. This collection was even nominated for "Best Hip Hop Album" at the 27th South African Music Awards.

Early Life and Education
Boity Thulo was born in Potchefstroom, North West, South Africa. She grew up there with her grandmother. She is the only daughter of her mother, Modiehi Thulo.
Boity started studying psychology and criminology at Monash University. However, she later left university. After that, she joined a casting agency. This led to her first appearance in a Wimpy advertisement in 2010.

Film and Television Work
Boity's TV journey started in 2011. She presented an educational show called "Crib Notes" on YOTV. Later, she co-hosted "The Media Career Guide Show" on SABC 1. She also hosted many other TV shows. These include SkyRoom Live, Ridiculousness Africa, Club 808, Zoned, Change Down, and Big Brother Africa.
In 2012, Boity got her first main acting role. She starred in the drama series Rockville. She played the character "Mpho Bogatsu" for all four seasons of the show.
Her first movie role was in 2014. She acted in a short comedy film called Dear Betty, playing "Betty". She also had a small role as "Marie" in the film Mrs Right Guy (2016).
In October 2021, Boity was nominated for the "African Social Star" award. This was at the 47th People's Choice Awards.
Music Journey
Boity first performed as a rapper on October 21, 2017. This was at the Migos Culture Tour in South Africa. She joined Nasty C as an opening act before the main group, Migos, arrived.
On August 30, 2018, Boity released her first song, "Wuz Dat?". It featured Nasty C. This song became a huge success! It was the first song by a female rapper in South Africa to be certified platinum. This means it sold a lot of copies. It also won "Best Collaboration" at the 2018 South African Hip Hop Awards. This made her the first female rapper to win this award.
On February 8, 2019, she released her second song, "Bakae".
In October 2022, Boity was a main performer at Rose Fest. She performed alongside other artists like Ami Faku and Busiswa.
On December 4, 2020, she released her music collection, 4436. This collection featured artists like Riky Rick. It was nominated for "Best Hip Hop Album" at the 27th South African Music Awards.
In 2021, Boity announced exciting news. She signed a music deal with Def Jam Africa. She was the first to share this on Twitter. On August 19, 2021, she announced a new song called "The yano way" on Instagram. This song will feature Daliwonga and Felo.
Other Ventures
In 2018, Boity worked with Impulse SA. Together, they created special limited edition perfumes. She also appeared on the cover of Cosmopolitan SA magazine for their September issue.
Business In 2021, Boity launched her own line of drinks. They are called "BT Signature".

Forbes Africa 30 Under 30 Creatives
In July 2019, Forbes magazine recognized Boity. They included her in their "30 Under 30 creatives" list. This was for her important work in the music and entertainment world. Other young African talents on the list included Nigerian musician Burna Boy and South African actress Thando Thabethe.
