Bretigny-sur-Morrens is a small town, also called a municipality, in Switzerland. It is located in the canton of Vaud, within the Gros-de-Vaud area. The name means "Bretigny on Morrens". It's a quiet place with a friendly community.

History of Bretigny-sur-Morrens
Bretigny-sur-Morrens is an old settlement. It was first written about in the year 1224. Back then, its name was spelled Britignie.
Geography and Land Use
Bretigny-sur-Morrens covers an area of about 2.86 square kilometers (1.1 square miles). A large part of this land, about 64.7%, is used for farming. This includes fields for crops and pastures for animals.
About 24.1% of the area is covered by forests. The remaining 10.8% of the land has buildings and roads. This means most of the town is green and open space.
Before August 31, 2006, Bretigny-sur-Morrens was part of the Echallens District. After that date, it became part of the newer Gros-de-Vaud District.
