Brot-Dessous was a small town in Switzerland. It was located in the canton of Neuchâtel. This area is in the western part of Switzerland.

Brot-Dessous used to be its own municipality. But on January 1, 2016, it became part of a nearby town. That town is called Rochefort.

History of Brot-Dessous

Early Beginnings

Brot-Dessous is a very old place. People first wrote about it in the year 998. It was called Broch back then. This was in a document about the founding of a priory in Bevaix. A priory is like a small monastery.

For many years, Brot-Dessous was part of Rochefort. This was between 1524 and 1730. After that, it became its own municipality again.

Brot-Dessous was in the Boudry district. It covered an area of about 5 square kilometers (about 1.9 square miles). The town's borders followed the Areuse river. They also followed the top of the Solmont mountain.
