California Peak stands at an impressive height of 13,855-foot (4,223 m). Because it is over 13,000 feet tall, it is sometimes called a "thirteener." This peak is part of the Sierra Blanca Massif, which is a group of mountains.
Where is California Peak Located?
California Peak is found in the state of Colorado in the United States. It is about 12.1 miles (19.5 km) north of a town called Blanca. The mountain sits on a special line called a drainage divide. This line separates two different areas.
One side of the mountain is in the Rio Grande National Forest and Alamosa County. The other side is in the San Isabel National Forest and Huerfano County. National forests are large areas of land protected by the government. They are often used for outdoor activities like hiking and camping.
