Caringbah South is a lovely suburb in Sydney, Australia. It's located right on the Port Hacking coastline. This area is about 25 kilometres south of the main city centre. It's part of the Sutherland Shire local government area.

Caringbah South is on a peninsula, which is land surrounded by water on three sides. It sits on the north side of the Port Hacking estuary. The suburb has Burraneer Bay on its eastern side. Yowie Bay is on its western side. Caringbah is the only suburb directly north of it. Other nearby suburbs to the south include Lilli Pilli, Dolans Bay, and Port Hacking.

History of Caringbah South

Caringbah South used to be part of Caringbah. However, it became its own separate suburb in 2008.

There is a special fountain in Caringbah South. It remembers Elizabeth Batts Cook. She was the wife of the famous explorer Captain James Cook. You can find this fountain in the E. G. Waterhouse National Camellia Garden.
