Carl Edward Kidd (born June 10, 1973) is a former American professional football player. He played as a linebacker and defensive back. Carl Kidd played in both the National Football League (NFL) and the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played college football for the Arkansas Razorbacks. The Oakland Raiders signed him as an undrafted free agent.

Early Life and College Football
Carl Kidd played high school football at Dollarway High School in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. After high school, he played at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College. Later, Kidd played cornerback and safety for the University of Arkansas. He was a key player for the team in 1993 and 1994.
College Achievements
As a senior, Carl Kidd was the top player for punt returns on his team. He also won the Steve Little Award. This award is given to the best special teams player for the Razorbacks. After his senior year, Kidd was chosen to play in the Blue-Gray Classic. This was an all-star game held in Montgomery, Alabama.

Carl Kidd had a long career playing professional football. He played for teams in both the NFL and the CFL.
Time with the Oakland Raiders
Carl Kidd was not chosen in the 1995 NFL draft. However, the Oakland Raiders signed him as a free agent. He played 29 games for the Raiders in 1995 and 1996. In 1996, Kidd played in all sixteen games for the Raiders. He made his only interception in his NFL career that year. He also returned 29 kickoffs for a total of 622 yards. After his time with the Raiders, Kidd spent three years in different NFL training camps. He then signed with the BC Lions in 2000.

2002 CFL Season
In 2002, Carl Kidd was one of six Lions players chosen for the CFL Western All-Star team. He returned two interceptions for touchdowns. He was also named BC's top defensive player. He earned the Player of the Week award for week 14.
2003 CFL Season
During the 2003 season, Kidd was named Defensive Player of the Week for week 8. He was ranked sixth in the CFL with 87 total tackle (football move)s. He also returned two more interceptions for touchdowns.
2004 CFL Season
In 2004, Carl Kidd scored his fifth career touchdown. This was a 35-yard interception return against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Kidd also led the Lions with 54 defensive tackles that season.
2005 CFL Season
For the 2005, he missed the first two games because of an injury. Despite this, he still led the Lions in special teams tackles with 23. He also recorded two sacks.
2006 CFL Season and Grey Cup Win
In 2006, Carl Kidd had 66 total tackles and four sacks with the Lions. His strong play helped them win the 2006 Grey Cup. In what would be his final game, Kidd worked with Javier Glatt to cause a very important fumble. This play helped seal the Grey Cup title for the Lions.
Retirement from Football
On March 27, 2007, Carl Kidd announced he was retiring from professional football. He was 33 years old when he retired.
