Carla Mendonça was born in Coventry, a city in the West Midlands of England. Her parents were both ballet dancers, which sounds like a very artistic family! Her mother was from England, and her father was from Portugal.

In 2016, Carla married actor Clive Mantle. She was also part of a band called The Maisonettes.
