The Legends Of Treasure Island is a cool animated TV show from Britain. It tells an exciting story with two seasons, each having 13 episodes. Every episode is about 22 to 25 minutes long.
This series takes the classic 1883 book Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson and adds its own magical twist! It's a bit darker and introduces new characters and lots of magic. Instead of Billy Bones, Jim's dad, Mr. Hawkins, plays a key role. The show was popular in the United Kingdom, Europe, Asia, and even Australia on ABC TV. It was made by FilmFair for Central Independent Television.
Today, The Legends of Treasure Island is owned by ITV plc.

Meet the Characters of Treasure Island
What makes this cartoon super unique is that the main characters are all animals! Here's who you'll meet:
Main Heroes and Villains
- Jim Hawkins: A brave and clever Dog. Jim is the main hero. He's determined to find the treasure, just like his father wanted.
- Ben Gunn: Another Dog. Ben is a hermit who lives on the island. He knows a lot about the island's dangers and often gives mysterious warnings. He loves to say things are "like a leech"!
- Long John Silver: A cunning Fox. Unlike in the book, Silver is mostly a villain here, though he does save Jim once. He's always trying to get the treasure for himself.
- Dr. Livesey: A smart Dog. He's a good friend to Jim and his father, always helping Jim against the pirates.
- Captain Smollett: A brave Dog captain. He offers to help Jim on his adventure. He's good friends with Squire Trelawney and helps get the journey started.
- Squire Trelawney: A funny Giant Pigeon. Squire Trelawney loves money and only agrees to fund the trip when he hears about the treasure. He often acts a bit clueless, even though he claims to have had many adventures.
- Blind Pew: A scary Giant Rat. Pew is a mysterious blind character who seems to be Long John Silver's boss.
- Jane: A clever Vixen. Jane is a new character just for this show. Silver kidnapped her, but her parents didn't want her back! So, she joins Jim's team and becomes a close friend, even developing feelings for him.
Other Recurring Characters
You'll also see some other pirates like Morgan (a hog), Nebbich (a hyena), and Rat (who is, you guessed it, a rat!). These characters are mostly in the first season. Other minor pirates include a weasel and a rabbit.
