Carlos Álvarez was born in 1966 in Málaga, Spain. He is a famous Spanish baritone singer. A baritone is a male singer with a voice that is lower than a tenor but higher than a bass.
Carlos Álvarez has had a very successful international opera career since the early 1990s. He has won important awards for his music. His recording of the main role in Isaac Albéniz's Merlin won a Latin Grammy Award in 2001. He also won a Grammy Award for Best Opera Recording in 2006 for his role as Ford in Giuseppe Verdi's Falstaff.
