Castle Danger is a small community in Minnesota, United States. It's not a city or town with its own government, but a group of homes and businesses. You can find it in Lake County, within Silver Creek Township.

This community sits right on the beautiful North Shore of Lake Superior. It's located along Minnesota Highway 61, between the towns of Two Harbors and Beaver Bay. Castle Danger is about 11 miles northeast of Two Harbors. A cool place nearby is Gooseberry Falls State Park, known for its waterfalls.

The Story of Castle Danger

People started settling in Castle Danger around 1890. Three brothers from Norway, named Dan, Marc, and Tom Lind, were among the first to arrive. They were fishermen. Even before they came, lumber companies were already using the land.

The name "Castle Danger" is a bit of a mystery! No one knows for sure how it got its unique name. Here are some ideas:

  • Perhaps the tall cliffs along the shore looked like a grand castle.
  • Maybe a boat named Castle got stuck or had trouble near here.
  • It could also be inspired by an old book called Castle Dangerous, written in 1831 by Walter Scott.
