History of Beaver Bay

Beaver Bay holds a special place in history. It is the oldest settlement along the North Shore of Lake Superior. The community was first established way back in 1856.

Every year, Beaver Bay is also home to an exciting event: the John Beargrease Dog Sled Race. This famous race brings dog sled teams from all over to compete.
