Celebrations (confectionery) facts for kids
Celebrations is a popular collection of small chocolate bars. It's made by a company called Mars, Incorporated. Celebrations first came out in 1997. This collection includes tiny versions of well-known Mars chocolate bars. The slogan for Celebrations is "Share the joy." It was one of the first mixed boxes of chocolates in the United Kingdom. Instead of new chocolates, it brought together popular sweets that were already sold separately.
Celebrations boxes are now sold in many countries. Most countries have the same chocolates as the UK. However, some differences exist. For example, in Australia, you won't find Twix bars in Celebrations boxes. In many places, the chocolate called Galaxy is known as Dove.
What's Inside a Celebrations Box?
A Celebrations box usually contains these mini chocolates:
- Maltesers Teaser
- Mars
- Milky Way
- Snickers
- Galaxy (or Dove in some countries)
- Galaxy Caramel
- Twix (These were in boxes from 1997 to 2006, and then again from 2011 onwards.)
- Bounty
In the United Kingdom, the collection also used to include:
- Galaxy Truffle (from 1997 to 2011)
- Topic (from 1997 to 2006)
Sometimes, the Milky Way bar is replaced in certain countries. This might be for a short time or permanently. When it's replaced, it's usually with Milky Way Crispy Rolls. These were first introduced in 2017.
In the United States, the Milky Way and Galaxy chocolates are the American versions. Also, Maltesers Teasers are not part of the selection there.
On November 3, 2022, it was announced that Bounty bars would be removed from some special tubs in the UK. This happened because the makers found that 40% of people didn't like them. A limited number of "No Bounty" tubs were sold in 40 Tesco stores before Christmas that year. However, a final decision about removing Bounty completely was not made. This was because 18% of people actually said Bounty was their favorite.
