Galaxy (chocolate bar) facts for kids
Galaxy is a popular chocolate bar. It is made by a big company called Mars, Incorporated. Galaxy chocolate was first made in the United Kingdom in the 1960s. Today, you can find Galaxy chocolate in many places around the world. These include the UK, Ireland, South Africa, India, and Pakistan. In some other countries, like the United States and Canada, it is sold under the name Dove. In 2014, Galaxy was one of the top-selling chocolate bars in the UK. It was second only to Cadbury Dairy Milk.
Types of Galaxy Chocolate
The Galaxy and Dove brands offer many different kinds of chocolate treats. You can find classic milk chocolate bars. There are also bars with caramel, Cookie Crumble, and Fruit & Nut.
Some other popular Galaxy products include:
- Minstrels: These are small, round chocolates covered in a crispy shell.
- Ripple: This bar has a special wavy or "rippled" milk chocolate center.
- Bubbles: This chocolate is light and airy, filled with tiny bubbles.

How Galaxy is Advertised
Galaxy chocolate has used interesting ways to advertise over the years. In 2013, a British TV ad for Galaxy became very famous. It showed a computer-generated image of the classic actress Audrey Hepburn. This image was made using special computer graphics (CGI). The commercial showed Hepburn singing "Moon River" and was first shown in the UK in February 2013.
Galaxy has also supported important events. It used to sponsor the British Book Awards.
