Charles Robert George Innes-Ker, 11th Duke of Roxburghe (born February 18, 1981), is an important British noble and a former military officer. He is also known as Charles Innes or Charlie Roxburghe. Before he became the Duke, he was known as the Marquess of Bowmont and Cessford until 2019.

Life and Career of the Duke of Roxburghe

The Duke of Roxburghe was born in 1981 in Leith, Edinburgh, Scotland. He is the oldest son of the 10th Duke of Roxburghe. His mother was Lady Jane Meriel Grosvenor, whose father was the 5th Duke of Westminster. Charles was christened in a church in Kelso.

Education and Early Life

He went to Eton College, a famous school, and then studied at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne. While he was a student, he had a small issue with a train ticket. He chose to pay a fine to resolve it quickly.

After university, he attended the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. This is a special school where people train to become officers in the British Army. He finished his training in December 2004. He then served as an officer with a famous army unit called the Blues and Royals. He served in places like Windsor and Iraq.

Becoming the Duke

Before his father passed away in August 2019, Charles was known by the title Marquess of Bowmont and Cessford. Instead of just waiting to take over his family's estates, he started a business. With a fellow officer, Rob Bassett-Cross, he created a company called Capstar. This company offered chauffeur services using black Jaguar XJ cars. They mostly hired former soldiers.

When his father died in 2019, Charles became the 11th Duke of Roxburghe. He inherited Floors Castle, which is a very large and historic home. He also inherited about 60,000 acres of land around the Cheviot Hills and the River Tweed. This inheritance also included hotels in the area. His family's wealth is estimated to be quite large, around £100 million.

Marriages and Children

On July 22, 2011, Charles married Charlotte Susanna Aitken. She is the daughter of Maxwell Aitken, 3rd Baron Beaverbrook. However, they separated and divorced less than a year later, in June 2012.

In 2016, he had a daughter named Eugenie Innes-Ker with fashion designer Morvarid Sahafi.

On January 30, 2021, it was announced that he was engaged to Annabel Green. They got married in September 2021 at Floors Castle. After their marriage, Annabel became known as the Duchess of Roxburghe.

On February 28, 2024, the Duchess gave birth to their son. He is named Frederick Charles Ian Innes-Ker. As the oldest son, he is now known as the Marquess of Bowmont and Cessford. He is the heir to the Dukedom.
