The History of Chelmsley Wood
Chelmsley Wood is a fairly new place. It was built by the Birmingham City Council mainly in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Before that, the area was mostly old woodland. This woodland was once part of a much larger forest called the Forest of Arden.
The council built many homes here to provide housing for people. This changed the quiet woodland into a busy neighbourhood.
