Chizzy Akudolu's Acting Journey
Starting Her Career
Chizzy Akudolu began her acting journey in 2002. She was one of eight new comedy performers chosen for a special BBC program. They performed a comedy show for BBC casting directors. Her first TV appearance was in the BBC comedy 15 Storeys High. After that, she had a small role in EastEnders.
She continued to work for the BBC in children's shows like Stupid! and Roman's Empire. Chizzy also appeared in Green Wing and Dustbin Baby. She played Miss Kanouti in The Complete Guide to Parenting. Chizzy also worked on other CBBC shows such as Nuzzle and Scratch, Scoop, and Gigglebiz.
Big Roles and Competitions
In 2007, Chizzy toured for three months with a play called The ... Monologues. In 2008, she played Angel in Dead Set. This show was a zombie parody of Big Brother. In 2009, she was a guest star in Hollyoaks Later. She also starred as Cookie, a unique Fairy Godmother, in the CBBC show Jinx.

Chizzy won the "Best Newcomer" award at the Black International Film Festival. She also won "Best Actress" at the BEFFTA Awards in the same year. She was nominated for the "Emerging Talent" award at the 8th Annual Screen Nation Awards.
Dance and Game Shows
In 2017, Chizzy took part in Let's Sing and Dance for Comic Relief. She performed with two actors from Casualty. They sang "Uptown Funk" and came in second place.
Later in 2017, she joined the fifteenth series of Strictly Come Dancing on BBC One. She was the first celebrity to leave the competition. After that, Chizzy appeared on The Weakest Link for a special Children in Need episode. She won the show, earning £1,130 for charity, which was then doubled.
In 2018, Chizzy competed on Richard Osman's House of Games on BBC Two. She won one of the episodes that week. She returned for a "House of Champions" special in 2020.
In January 2019, Chizzy played Butterfly Brown in Death in Paradise. In 2022, she was a contestant on Celebrity Hunted for Stand up to Cancer. She was caught third in the series. She also made a guest appearance in the ITV sitcom Kate and Koji.
