Christopher Nicholas Duhon (born August 31, 1982) is an American former professional basketball player. He played as a point guard for the Duke Blue Devils men's basketball team from 2000 to 2004. After college, he played in the NBA for teams like the Chicago Bulls, New York Knicks, Orlando Magic, and Los Angeles Lakers.

College Basketball Journey
Before joining Duke, Chris Duhon was a star at Salmen High School in Slidell, Louisiana. In his final year, he was named Mr. Basketball for Louisiana. He also joined the famous McDonald's All-American Team and won the McDonald's Three Point Shootout.
Duhon started at Duke in 2000. He was a key player, often backing up star point guard Jason Williams. When teammate Carlos Boozer got injured, Duhon stepped up as the starting point guard. This helped the Duke Blue Devils win the 2001 national championship. They beat Arizona in the finals.
In his second year, Duhon continued to start alongside Jason Williams. He became known for his strong defense and great passing skills. He averaged 2.3 steals and 5.9 assists per game that season.
From his third year on, Duhon became a very important leader for the Blue Devils. In the 2002–2003 season, he led a young Duke team to the Sweet 16. He averaged 9.2 points, 6.4 assists, and 2.2 steals per game.
In his final year at Duke, Duhon averaged 10 points, 6 assists, 2.2 steals, and 4.1 rebounds. He helped his team reach another Final Four.
Chris Duhon finished his college career as Duke's all-time leader in steals (300) and minutes played (4,813). He was also second in assists (819). During his four years, Duke won 123 games and lost only 21. This made Duhon the second winningest player in Duke and Atlantic Coast Conference history. He also helped the Blue Devils win three ACC Championships.
NBA Career Highlights
Playing for the Chicago Bulls (2004–2008)
In June 2004, the Chicago Bulls picked Chris Duhon as the 38th player in the 2004 NBA draft. In his first year, he played in all 82 games. He averaged 5.9 points and 4.9 assists per game. His best game was against the Atlanta Hawks, where he scored 24 points. He made 8 of 9 three-point shots, which was a team record at the time.
The Bulls re-signed Duhon for the 2005–06 season. That year, he averaged 8.7 points and 5.0 assists per game.
After Hurricane Katrina in 2005, Duhon's Stand Tall Foundation helped his hometown of Slidell, Louisiana. They gave out over 3,000 boxes of supplies, worth $450,000.
Duhon helped the Bulls win their first playoff series since the Michael Jordan era. They swept the Miami Heat four games to zero. Duhon was a key player off the bench in that series.
In February 2008, Duhon had a career-high game against the Golden State Warriors. He scored 34 points and also had 9 assists, 3 steals, and 4 three-pointers. His contract with the Bulls ended in June 2008.
Joining the New York Knicks (2008–2010)
On July 4, 2008, Duhon signed a two-year deal to play for the New York Knicks. He was seen as a possible replacement for Stephon Marbury.
On November 29, 2008, in a game against the Golden State Warriors, Duhon set a new Knicks record. He made 22 assists in a single game!
Time with the Orlando Magic (2010–2012)
On July 8, 2010, Duhon signed a four-year deal with the Orlando Magic.
Playing for the Los Angeles Lakers (2012–2013)
On August 10, 2012, Duhon was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers. This was part of a big trade that also involved Dwight Howard. On June 29, 2013, the Lakers decided to release Duhon.
Coaching Career
After his playing career, Chris Duhon became a coach. In April 2014, he was hired as an assistant coach at Marshall. He worked under head coach Dan D'Antoni, who had coached him before.
In 2023, Duhon became the head coach for the boys' basketball team at Gaston Christian School.
Personal Life
Chris Duhon is related to other basketball players. He is the cousin of Jarrett Jack. Duhon is married to Andrea Hernandez, and they have four children.
