Where is Cleon Township Located?
Cleon Township is in the northwest corner of Manistee County. To the north, you'll find Benzie County. To the east, it borders Wexford County. A small part of Grand Traverse County also touches its northeast corner.
The township covers a total area of about 36.1 square miles (93.5 square kilometers). Most of this area is land. Only a tiny part, about 0.08 square miles (0.2 square kilometers), is water.
Roads and Travel
- M-115 Highway: This important road runs through Cleon Township. It goes diagonally from the northwest to the southeast. M-115 connects the village of Copemish to other towns. It links Copemish with Benzonia to the northwest and Mesick to the southeast.

There are a couple of notable communities within Cleon Township:
- Cleon: This was an early settlement located along the Manistee River. It was first settled in 1865. Cleon even had its own post office from 1871 until 1902.
- Copemish: This is a small village located in the western part of the township.
