Cody Derek Latimer (born October 10, 1992) is an American football coach and former player. He used to play as a wide receiver and tight end. Currently, he is the Wide Receivers Coach for the San Antonio Brahmas in the United Football League (UFL).

Cody was chosen by the Denver Broncos in the 2014 NFL draft. He played college football at Indiana University. He was part of the Broncos team that won Super Bowl 50. He also played for the New York Giants in the National Football League (NFL) and the Orlando Guardians in the XFL.

Early Life and High School Football

Cody Latimer grew up in Dayton, Ohio. He went to Jefferson Township High School. In high school, he was a star player in football. He caught 42 passes for 722 yards and scored six touchdowns. He also ran for 372 yards and scored six more touchdowns.

On defense, he was great too, making 89 tackles and getting four interceptions. Besides football, Cody also played basketball, baseball, and ran track. Experts thought he was one of the best wide receiver players in his class.

Cody Latimer played college football at Indiana University from 2011 to 2013.

Playing for the Denver Broncos

2014 Season

Cody signed a four-year contract with the Broncos. He worked hard in training camp to earn a spot as a backup wide receiver. He started the season as the fourth wide receiver on the team.

He played his first professional game when the Broncos won against the Indianapolis Colts. He caught his first pass in Week 10, a nine-yard catch from quarterback Peyton Manning. He finished his first year with two catches for 23 yards. Cody later said it took him a while to get used to playing in the NFL.

2015 Season

In 2015, the Broncos got a new head coach, Gary Kubiak. Cody worked to become a key player. In Week 10, he caught three passes for 30 yards. On November 22, 2015, he made his first start and caught his first career touchdown pass. He finished the 2015 season with six catches for 59 yards and one touchdown.

The Broncos had a great season, winning their division. They made it to the playoffs. Cody played in his first playoff game on January 17, 2016, helping the Broncos beat the Pittsburgh Steelers. After winning the AFC Championship, the Broncos went to the Super Bowl. On February 7, 2016, Cody Latimer and the Broncos won Super Bowl 50, defeating the Carolina Panthers 24–10.

2016 Season

In 2016, Cody continued to play for the Broncos. He played in 12 games and had eight catches for 76 yards. He also made seven tackles on special teams and returned eight kicks for 200 yards.

In his fourth season with the Broncos, Cody had his best year yet. He caught 19 passes for 287 yards and scored two touchdowns in 11 games. He also returned eight kicks for 190 yards.

Playing for the New York Giants

In March 2018, Cody Latimer joined the New York Giants. He reunited with his old coach, Tyke Tolbert. He had a hamstring injury in Week 6 but returned later in the season. In six games in 2018, he caught 11 passes for 190 yards and one touchdown.

Cody re-signed with the Giants in March 2019. In the 2019 season, he played in 15 games. He caught 24 passes for 300 yards and scored two touchdowns.

Playing for Washington

Cody signed with the Washington Redskins in April 2020. He was later released by the team.

Playing in the XFL

Cody was chosen by the Orlando Guardians in the 2023 XFL Skill Players Draft. He played as a tight end for the Guardians. The XFL later joined with another league to form the United Football League (UFL).

Playing for the San Antonio Brahmas

On January 5, 2024, Cody Latimer was picked by the San Antonio Brahmas in the UFL draft. He signed with the team on January 22. He was placed on injured reserve on May 28, 2024.

Coaching Career

Cody Latimer is now a coach. He is the Wide Receivers Coach for the San Antonio Brahmas in the UFL.

Personal Life

Cody's father, Colby, also played college football in the 1980s. He passed away from cancer in 2005. Cody also lost his grandmother to cancer. He helps raise money for the American Cancer Society.
