Coleharbor is a small city in McLean County, North Dakota, United States. It was founded in 1904. In 2020, about 59 people lived there.

History of Coleharbor

Coleharbor started in 1904. This was when a railroad line reached the area. The city's name comes from two things. One part is from W. A. Cole, an official from the Soo Railroad. The other part refers to an older place called Coal Harbor. That place was on the Missouri River nearby.

In July 2006, Coleharbor experienced a very strong storm. This type of storm is called a derecho. It caused a lot of damage around the town. Part of the old school building, which was made of brick, was blown down. However, a nearby grain elevator was not damaged.
