Colin Robert Vaughan Campbell, born on June 30, 1962, is known as the 7th Earl Cawdor. He is a Scottish nobleman, a large landowner, and an architect. From 1993 to 1999, he was a member of the House of Lords, which is part of the UK Parliament. He also serves as the Vice-Lord Lieutenant of Nairnshire, helping the King's representative in that area.

About Earl Cawdor
Early Life and Education
Colin Robert Vaughan Campbell was born in Carmarthen, Wales. He is the older son of Hugh John Vaughan Campbell, who was the 6th Earl Cawdor. His mother was Cathryn Hinde.
He went to two well-known schools. First, he studied at Eton College, a famous boarding school. After that, he attended St Peter's College, Oxford, which is a part of the University of Oxford.
Becoming the Earl
In 1993, when his father passed away, Colin inherited his titles. He became the 7th Earl Cawdor. This also meant he became Viscount Emlyn and Baron Cawdor.
Along with the titles, he inherited a large estate in Scotland. This estate covers about 50,000 acres. He also became the owner of Cawdor Castle. This historic castle is famous because it is mentioned in William Shakespeare's play Macbeth.
Community Projects
In 2006, Earl Cawdor started a project called "New Future for Nairn." He wanted to help the town of Nairn become popular again. Nairn used to be a well-known place for seaside holidays. People even called it "the Brighton of the North."
In 2007, he shared more detailed plans. These plans included developing a large area of land near Nairn. The idea was to build new homes, a sports center, and an arts center for the community.
Family Life
Marriage and Children
On October 21, 1994, Lord Cawdor married Lady Isabella Stanhope. Their wedding took place in Adare, County Limerick. Lady Isabella was a fashion editor for Vogue magazine. She later became an interior decorator, designing the inside of buildings.
Earl and Countess Cawdor have four children:

Family Home
In 2005, Earl Cawdor, his wife, and their children were living at Drynachan Lodge. This is a large hunting lodge with eight bedrooms. It is located by the River Findhorn in Scotland.
In 2007, Vogue magazine featured the Cawdors. They were listed as one of the best-dressed couples.
