Concordia is a city located in Lafayette County, Missouri. It is part of the larger Kansas City metropolitan area in the United States. In 2020, about 2,371 people lived in Concordia.

History of Concordia
Concordia was officially planned and marked out in 1868. The city's name comes from a place mentioned in a famous poem called "Das Lied von der Glocke" by Friedrich Schiller. A post office has been open in Concordia since 1865.
Many of the first people to settle in Concordia were from Germany. Among these early immigrants were the family members of a very famous scientist named Linus Pauling. In 1842, Christoph Friedrich Pauling and his wife Catharine moved to the United States from Hanover. They settled in a German community in Concordia, Missouri, where they started a farm. Their grandson, Charles Henry, who was Linus Pauling's grandfather, was born there in 1847.

Education in Concordia
The Concordia R-II School District runs a public elementary school and Concordia High School. There is also a private school called St. Paul Lutheran High School. This school is special because it is the only high school in the United States affiliated with the Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod that offers housing for students.
Concordia also has a public library. It is a part of the Trails Regional Library system.
Fun Things to Do
Concordia hosts an annual Fall Festival. It takes place on the first weekend after Labor Day. A fun event during the festival is the CCC Parade, also known as the Concordia Comical Crew parade. It happens on Friday night.
