Countess Danielle Vaughn, born on August 8, 1978, is an American actress, singer, and TV star. She is famous for playing Kim Parker in the TV shows Moesha and The Parkers. She also played Alexandria DeWitt on the show 227.

Early Life and First Steps to Stardom
Countess Vaughn was born in Idabel, Oklahoma. Her parents are Sandra and Leo Vaughn. She started performing when she was just three years old in 1981. She loved singing at church.
When she was nine in 1988, Countess won a big TV competition. She sang "I'll Be There" on Star Search. She became the junior vocalist champion and the overall junior champion. After this success, she joined the NBC sitcom 227. She played Alexandria DeWitt in the show's fourth season in 1988. Countess left the show the next year.
Countess Vaughn's Acting Career
In the 1990s, Countess Vaughn appeared on several TV shows. She was a guest star on Thea, Hangin' with Mr. Cooper, and Roc. She also performed in a musical called Mama, I Want to Sing! Part 3.
Her most well-known role was playing Kim Parker. This was in the UPN sitcom Moesha. She was a co-star on the show from 1996 to 1999. In 1998, Countess won an NAACP Image Award. This award was for her great acting in Moesha.
In 1999, Countess Vaughn starred in a spin-off show called The Parkers. She also sang the theme song for this show. She starred alongside actress and comedian Mo'Nique. The series aired from 1999 until 2004. Countess also acted in the movie Trippin in 1999. Later, she guest-starred on TV shows like Cuts and Let's Stay Together.

In 1992, Countess Vaughn released her first music album. It was simply titled Countess. The album featured different types of songs, including dance music and R&B. The first song from the album was a cover of James Brown's "It's A Man's, Man's, Man's World". This song made it into the top-100 on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
In the mid-2000s, Countess appeared on reality television. In January 2006, she was on the third season of Celebrity Fit Club on VH1. She later appeared as a contestant on MTV's Celebrity Rap Superstar in August 2007.
In 2014, Countess Vaughn began starring in the TV One reality series Hollywood Divas. She starred alongside Golden Brooks, Lisa Wu, and Paula Jai Parker. The show first aired on October 8, 2014.
Personal Life and Health
Countess Vaughn married Joseph James on January 16, 2002. They had a son before they divorced in 2005. Countess also has a daughter, born in 2009. Her daughter's father is her former fiancé, David Whitten.
Countess has shared some personal health challenges. She appeared on the TV show The Doctors. There, she talked about having hair loss. This was due to bad reactions from glue used on wigs she wore for many years. She also has some skin discoloration.
