Countess Danielle Vaughn (born August 8, 1978) is a talented American actress, singer, and TV personality. She is most famous for playing Kim Parker in the TV shows Moesha and its spin-off, The Parkers. She also played Alexandria DeWitt in the show 227.

Early Life and First Steps
Countess Vaughn was born in Idabel, Oklahoma. Her parents are Sandra and Leo Vaughn. She started performing when she was just three years old in 1981, singing at church.
When she was nine, in 1988, she sang "I'll Be There" on the TV show Star Search. She won the junior vocalist champion and the overall junior champion titles! After this big win, she was cast as Alexandria DeWitt in the TV show 227 in 1988. She left the show the next year.
Countess Vaughn's Acting Career
In the 1990s, Countess Vaughn appeared as a guest star on several TV shows. These included Thea, Hangin' with Mr. Cooper, and Roc. She also performed in a musical called Mama, I Want to Sing! Part 3.
In 1992, Countess released her first music album, also called Countess. It had different kinds of songs, like dance music and R&B. The first song from the album was a cover of James Brown's "It's A Man's, Man's, Man's World". This song made it into the top-100 on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
Kim Parker: A Famous Role
Countess Vaughn's most well-known role was playing Kim Parker. She played this character in the UPN sitcom Moesha. She was a main cast member on the show from 1996 to 1999.
In 1998, Countess won an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. This award was for her great acting in Moesha. In 1999, she got to star in a new show called The Parkers. This show was a spin-off from Moesha, meaning it continued the story of her character, Kim Parker. Countess also sang the theme song for The Parkers. She starred alongside actress and comedian Mo'Nique. The series was on TV from 1999 until 2004.
After The Parkers, Countess Vaughn also acted in the movie Trippin (1999). Later, she made guest appearances on TV shows like Cuts and Let's Stay Together.
Personal Life
Countess Vaughn married Joseph James on January 16, 2002. They had a son together before they divorced in 2005. Countess also has a daughter, who was born in 2009. Her daughter's father is David Whitten.
Countess has spoken about some health challenges she faced. She shared on the TV show The Doctors that she experienced hair loss. This was due to bad reactions from glue used on wigs she wore for many years. She also has some skin discoloration.
Reality TV Appearances
Countess Vaughn has also appeared on several reality television shows. In 2006, she was on the third season of Celebrity Fit Club on VH1. Later, in 2007, she was a contestant on MTV's Celebrity Rap Superstar.
In 2014, Countess Vaughn began starring in the TV One reality series Hollywood Divas. She appeared alongside other actresses like Golden Brooks, Lisa Wu, and Paula Jai Parker. The show first aired on October 8, 2014.
