Courtney Bowman (born 1 February 1995) is a talented English actress and singer. She is well-known for her exciting roles in popular musicals like Everybody's Talking About Jamie, Six, and Legally Blonde. You might also know her from the children's TV show Big Cook, Little Cook on CBeebies.

Early Life and Training
Courtney Bowman grew up in Boston, Lincolnshire, England. She has a mixed heritage, with roots in Cape Verde and Europe. She often describes herself as Afro-European.
Courtney went to Boston High School until she was eighteen. After that, she trained to be an actress at the Guildford School of Acting for three years. She graduated in 2016. While she was studying, Courtney won a special award called the Stephen Sondheim Society Student Performer of the Year. She won £1000 for her amazing singing!
Her Acting Journey
Courtney's career began with singing performances. She sang as a chorister for Josh Groban on Stage in 2015. She also performed as a soloist for Sam Bailey's concert in 2016.
Big Roles on Stage
In 2016, Courtney joined the original cast of the musical Everybody's Talking About Jamie. She played the role of Fatimah at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield. The show was very popular, so it moved to the West End in London. Courtney continued her role at the Apollo Theatre. A filmed version of the musical, featuring Courtney, was even shown in cinemas around the world!
From 2019 to 2021, Courtney played the famous queen Anne Boleyn in the hit musical Six. She performed in different London theatres, including the Arts Theatre, Lyric Theatre, and Vaudeville Theatre. She returned to Six after theatres reopened following the COVID-19 pandemic.
In 2022, Courtney took on a big lead role: Elle Woods in Legally Blonde. This musical was performed at the Regent's Park Open Air Theatre. She also appeared in a concert version of Kinky Boots at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane. She is now starring as Lauren in the UK Tour of Kinky Boots.
Later in 2022, Courtney played Kit de Luca in the West End musical Pretty Woman: The Musical at the Savoy Theatre. In 2023, she starred as the Spirit of the Ring in the Aladdin pantomime in Canterbury.
On Television
Courtney also appears on television! Since 2022, she has been playing Little Cook Small in the new series of Big Cook, Little Cook on CBeebies. This is a fun cooking show for younger children. In 2023, she had a guest role as Yasmin in the popular TV show EastEnders.
Awards and Recognition
Courtney has won some fantastic awards for her performances:
- In 2016, she won the Stephen Sondheim Society Student Performer of the Year award.
- In 2023, she won the first-ever gender-neutral WhatsOnStage Award for Best Performer in a Musical. This was for her amazing role as Elle Woods in Legally Blonde.
