Story of Crash B-Daman
The story of Crash B-Daman follows a young boy named Hitto Tamaga. He lives by himself because his father went missing. For his birthday, Hitto gets his first Crash B-Daman, called Magnum Ifit. It was made by his own father! With this special gift and a message from his dad, Hitto grows up. He meets many friends, rivals, and even enemies on his journey. Along the way, he starts to discover the truth about what happened to his missing father.
It's important to know that the TV show (anime) and the comic book (manga) have slightly different storylines!
Meet the Characters
Here are some of the main characters you'll meet in Crash B-Daman:
- Hitto Tamaga (玉賀必人, Tamaga Hitto)
- Voiced by: Kahoru Sasajima
Hitto is the main hero! He uses Magnum Ifrit, which is a powerful B-Daman. Later, he gets Justice Ifrit. In the anime, Hitto is a very strong person who never gives up. He faces every challenge head-on. His favorite saying is "overcome the difficulties," a message from his missing father. Even though he can be a bit clumsy and reckless, he has a fiery spirit when he battles with B-Daman. He loves chilli dogs! He wears a hair-clip that belonged to his father. Hitto wins many tournaments and eventually becomes one of the "Seven Legendary B-Ders." He finally reunites with his father at the end of the anime.
In the manga, Hitto has amazing eyesight. He often helps villagers find lost things, but he asks for money in return. His favorite food is grilled onigiri. His father gives him a B-Daman for his birthday, but then his father is taken away. To rescue him, Hitto enters a tournament and learns he has a special mark on his body, showing he's connected to a group called Evil Gods. He eventually saves his father.
- Kodoh Kuraki (蔵木コドウ, Kuraki Kodō)
- Voiced by: Urara Takano
Kodoh uses Rave Pegasus and Shade Wyvern, which can combine into Eclipse Dragon. In the anime, Kodoh is one of the "Four Kings" from a group called Saionji Konzern's Dark Lizards. He loves things that are beautiful and dislikes anything "not beautiful." He's a very strong B-Der but prefers to be alone. He can seem cold, but sometimes he secretly helps Hitto. He wins a big tournament but then shoots the trophy, surprising everyone! Later, he helps Hitto and is revealed to be one of the Seven Legendary B-Ders.
In the manga, Kodoh is 13 years old and part of the Evil Gods organization. He has a special mark on his arm. He often steps in when another character, Teruma, is being picked on, showing he has a softer side. He was an orphan and felt lonely, but was adopted and trained. After the Evil Gods' castle falls, Kodoh lives with Hitto and his friends.
- Nana Sendo (仙堂ナナ, Sendō Nana)
- Voiced by: Akemi Kanda
Nana uses a custom pink B-Daman. She only appears in the anime. She's Hitto's cousin and lives in the same building. Nana is often with Hitto and can be quite bossy. She's not very interested in B-Daman battles, even though she has her own B-Daman. She's not very good at shooting. She loves listening to her grandfather's stories about the "Seven Legendary B-Ders" and tries to guess who they are. She's a bit sad she's not one of them!
- Konta Tsukino (月野コン太, Tsukino Konta)
- Voiced by: Misato Fukuen
Konta uses Blitz Garuda, then Mach Garuda. In the anime, Konta calls himself a "B-Daman Hunter" because he looks for strong B-Ders to battle. He's usually calm and never rushes. He often gets annoyed by Hitto's reckless behavior. He's afraid of dogs, high places, and his three older sisters! Konta is also one of the Seven Legendary B-Ders and helps Hitto fight against a big threat.
In the manga, Konta is the leader of a gang called "BLOODIES." He has a mischievous and unpredictable personality, different from the anime. He sometimes wears a cap and enjoys walking around at night.

In the manga, Jubee is a good friend of Konta. He becomes friends with Hitto after a battle and sometimes helps train him. His hairstyle is different in the manga.
- Karashu (カラッシュ, Karashū)
- Voiced by: Yoshiro Matsumoto
Karashu is Jubee's pet crow. Like a dog, he can find people by their smell. His name is a mix of "Crash" and "Karasu," which is Japanese for crow.
- Teruma Kamioka (神岡テルマ, Kamioka Teruma)
- Voiced by: Hiroshi Kamiya (eps 4-34, 50), Kenji Nojima (eps 38-47)
Teruma uses Sturm Griffon. In the anime, Teruma seems kind and gentle, caring for children at an orphanage. But he has a "split personality" and can turn into an evil "Devil B-Der" who tries to steal B-Damans! His real personality is the kind "angel" side. He eventually joins Hitto as one of the Seven Legendary B-Ders.
In the manga, Teruma doesn't have a split personality. He's very gentle and nice. He works for Hitto and calls him "master," though Hitto doesn't like it. He's part of the Evil Gods organization but leaves when he doesn't want to steal Hitto's B-Daman. He later lives with Hitto and his friends.

- Princess Darami (プリンセス・ダラミ)
- Voiced by: Saori Yumiba
Princess Darami uses a custom Valkyrie-themed B-Daman. She's an anime-only character and the fourth of the Four Kings. She's very rich and always has two maids with her. She's the only one of the Four Kings who uses a custom B-Daman.
- Joe Fukairi (深入ジョー, Fukairi Jō)

He sends Hitto his first B-Daman and a letter with the message "overcome the difficulties." He reappears, gives Hitto a new B-Daman, and then disappears again. He is later captured but eventually escapes and reunites with Hitto.
In the manga, he spends his money on B-Daman research. He gives Hitto Magnum Ifrit, but then his house is destroyed, and he is taken by the Evil Gods organization. It's later revealed that he's not Hitto's actual father, but his uncle, who pretended to be his dad. He helps Hitto escape the collapsing Evil Gods' castle.

He is one of the few characters who uses two B-Damans at once. His father had a grudge against Saionji Konzern. Kyousuke works with them but later betrays them to become the new president. His plan to rule the world fails when Hitto defeats him.
In the manga, Kyousuke is the oldest of the Evil Gods organization's members. He has a special mark on his forehead. He often picks on Teruma and calls Kodoh "Kodoh-chan." He wants to become the leader of the Evil Gods. He is defeated by Hitto and promises to get revenge.

Key Terms and Gameplay
Let's learn about some important words and how to play Crash B-Daman!
Important Terms
- B-Daman: This is the main toy in the game. It's a figure designed to shoot small, round marbles called B-Dama.
- B-Dama (ビー玉 Bīdama): These are the special marbles used with B-Daman. Official B-Dama are about 0.67 inches wide. Biidama is the Japanese word for "marble."
- Strike Shot: These are special B-Dama with different features. They might be clear, plastic, metal, or even able to split apart!
- Grenade Shot: These are larger marbles, about 0.98 inches wide, used with special "Crash Weapons." They have holes in them, like a wiffleball. Some even have Strike Shots inside!
- Crash Tower: This is an item used in battles. It has six pillars that can hold two marbles each. There are also guard rails on top that can fall down.
- Crash Weapon: This is an item you can attach to the side of your B-Daman. It adds a different way to fire marbles.
- Stadium: This is the area where B-Daman battles take place. They are usually about 4 feet long and 1 foot wide.
- Hold Parts: These parts inside the B-Daman keep the marbles from falling out and help create power for the shot.
- Claw: These are prongs on the Hold Parts. Crash B-Daman can have anywhere from 2 to 9 Claws.
- Battle Coin: A coin-shaped item loaded into a "Rush Thrower" for a game called Super Rush Battle.
- "Rush Thrower": An item that throws Battle Coins in the Super Rush Battle game.
How to Play
- Crash Battle: In this game, players try to knock down the marbles on top of their opponent's Crash Tower using their B-Daman or Crash Weapons. The first one to clear their opponent's tower wins!
- Super Rush Battle: The goal here is to shoot as many Battle Coins as you can onto your opponent's side of the stadium.
- Shoot the Gap: To learn about this game, see the main B-Daman article.
- Bowling: To learn about this game, see the main B-Daman article.
- Crash Battle X: This game has the same rules as Crash Battle, but you use special "Crash Blocks" in front of each Crash Tower to block the B-Dama.
Types of B-Daman
There are different types of Crash B-Daman, each with its own strengths:
- Power: These B-Daman focus on shooting with a lot of strength. This makes it easier to knock down Crash Towers. However, too much power can make it harder to fire quickly.
- Rush: These B-Daman are all about firing many B-Dama very quickly. They often have special "Roller Holds" or "Balance Holds."
- Control: These B-Daman are designed to hit a specific target with great accuracy. They need a bit more power to make the marble travel straight through their longer barrels. They often use "Balance Holds" or "Round Holds."
- Balance: These B-Daman try to have a good mix of different strengths. For example, Shining Pegasus is a Balance type because it has "Balance Holds." When combined with Reflect Wyvern, it helps create a "Perfect" type.
- Perfect: Unlike Balance types, a Perfect B-Daman combines all four main types (Power, Rush, Control, Balance) into one!
- Revolver: This type uses a special barrel that fires B-Dama directly from the barrel, not the core. They don't have hold parts and can often fire multiple shots at once.
- Perfect Revolver: This term describes Ultimate Bahamut. It's a Revolver type B-Daman with a special "Double Synchro Grip." It's not a mix of "Perfect" and "Revolver" types.
B-Daman Systems
B-Daman toys use different systems for their parts:
3 Block Gear System
This was the first system for Crash B-Daman. It uses three main "blocks":
- Block 1: Barrel: This part affects how much control you have over your shot. Longer barrels give more control but less power.
- Block 2: Core: This part determines the B-Daman's type (Power, Rush, Control, or Balance). It has different "hold parts" that match its type.
- Block 3: Grip: This part makes it easier or harder to fire. Some grips can also increase power or speed.
Each grip also has a slot for a "server," and the core has two slots on its arms for a "Crash Weapon."
Synchro Weapon System
This is the second system for Crash B-Daman, which improves upon the 3 Block Gear System. The Grip Block now has a second trigger called the "Synchro Trigger." This trigger lets you activate "Synchro Weapons" attached to the B-Daman, allowing you to fire without using your other hand. This system also introduced more complex features, like "Triple Roller Holds."
