Cross Lake is a beautiful lake located in New York, United States. It sits right on the border between Cayuga and Onondaga counties.
This lake is special because it's within the land of the traditional Onondaga Indian Nation. Local stories say that Cross Lake might have been the childhood home of Hiawatha. He was a very important person who worked for peace among Native American tribes.
Cross Lake is about 65 feet deep at its deepest point. On average, it is about 18 feet deep. The Seneca River flows right through the southern part of the lake.
Since Cross Lake is part of the New York State Canal System, many different kinds of fish can travel through it. The lake's water also gets completely refreshed about once a week. This means the water is always moving and staying clean!

Where Can You Fish?
If you want to go fishing, there are a couple of places to access the lake. You can get to the lake at the Cross Lake Campground off Dugar Road. There is a small fee to use this access point. You can also find access at the marina on Fire Lane 18, which also has a fee.
