The Cuba men's national volleyball team is a group of top volleyball players from Cuba. They represent their country in big international volleyball games. The team is known as Los leones del voleibol cubano, which means Lions of Cuban volleyball. They are managed by the Federación Cubana De Voleibol.

Cuba's team has won many important medals. They earned their first bronze medal at the 1976 Summer Olympics. In other major world competitions, they have won gold medals at the World Cup, World Grand Champions Cup, World League, and Challenger Cup. They also have two silver and two bronze medals from the World Championship. The Cuban team has won the NORCECA Championship an amazing 16 times!

Olympic Games Highlights

The team has played in the Olympic Games seven times.

  • In 1976, they won a Bronze medal. This was a huge achievement for them.
  • They finished 4th in 1992, just missing out on a medal.

World Championship Success

Cuba has competed in the World Championship many times.

  • They won a Silver medal in 1990 and again in 2010.
  • They also earned Bronze medals in 1978 and 1998.

World Cup Victories

The team has done very well in the World Cup.

  • They won a Gold medal in 1989.
  • They also secured Silver medals in 1981, 1991, and 1999.
  • A Bronze medal was won in 1977.

Grand Champions Cup and World League

Cuba has also shined in other big tournaments.

  • They won a Gold medal at the 2001 World Grand Champions Cup.
  • In the World League, they won a Gold medal in 1998 and several Silver and Bronze medals over the years.

Challenger Cup Win

  • The team won a Gold medal at the 2022 Challenger Cup. This win helped them qualify for the Nations League.

Pan American Games Medals

Cuba has a strong record in the Pan American Games.

  • They have won Gold medals in 1971, 1975, 1979, 1991, and 1999.
  • They have also won several Silver and Bronze medals in this competition.

NORCECA Championship Dominance

The Cuban team has been incredibly successful in the Men's NORCECA Volleyball Championship.
