Cuddy Canyon is a natural valley located in California. It runs along the border between Kern County and Ventura County. This canyon is found within the large Los Padres National Forest. It is also part of the southern San Emigdio Mountains.

The canyon is home to several small towns. These are often called the Tejon Pass mountain communities. They include Frazier Park and Lake of the Woods. These communities are great places to live or visit in the canyon.

History of Cuddy Canyon

Long ago, an important old road passed through Cuddy Canyon. This road was called the El Camino Viejo. It was used in the 18th and 19th centuries. People traveled on it between the Los Angeles Basin and the San Francisco Bay Area. It connected missions and settlements.

Cuddy Canyon was named after a person named John Fletcher Cuddy. He was a rancher who settled in this canyon. He also ranched in a nearby area called Cuddy Valley.
