Cinnamon Toast Crunch is a popular breakfast cereal made by General Mills and Nestlé. It first came out in 1984. This cereal tries to capture the yummy taste of cinnamon toast in a crunchy cereal.
The cereal pieces are small squares or rectangles. They are made from wheat and rice. Each piece is covered with a sweet mix of cinnamon and sugar. When you pour milk on it, you might hear "snap" sounds. This happens because of the rice, just like with Rice Krispies. In some parts of Europe, it's known by different names. For example, it's called Croque-Cannelle in French Canada. In the UK, it's Curiously Cinnamon. Other European countries have a similar cereal called Cini Minis.

The Story of Cinnamon Toast Crunch
This tasty cereal was first created in 1984. An Assistant Product Manager at General Mills, Elisabeth Trach, helped invent it. When it first came out, the cereal squares were plain. Now, they have a cool "cinnamon swirl" look on each piece.
Meet the Mascots
When Cinnamon Toast Crunch first launched, it had three animated bakers as its mascots. These bakers wore chef hats and aprons. Only one of them was named: Wendell. People really liked Wendell. So, by 1991, he became the main "Cinnamon Toast Baker."
Later, the bakers were replaced. The new mascots became the actual Cinnamon Toast Crunch squares! These squares were shown as being alive. In funny commercials, they would even try to eat each other because they loved the taste so much.
Catchy Slogans Over Time
Cinnamon Toast Crunch has had many memorable slogans. When the three bakers were the mascots, they didn't have a slogan. Instead, they sang the cereal's name together. Each baker sang one word.
In 1995, the cereal got a new slogan: "The taste you can see." This slogan highlighted the visible cinnamon and sugar on the squares. For a short time in 2007, they tried "It's That Intense." However, people didn't like it as much. So, they switched back.
By 2009, the slogan became "Crave those crazy squares." This is one of the most well-known slogans. There was also a special campaign for adults. It used the slogan "The adult thing to do." This campaign joked about adults still enjoying kid-friendly things, like cereal.
