Càrn Mòr Dearg is an amazing mountain in Scotland. It stands tall at 1,220 m (4,000 ft). This makes it the ninth-highest mountain in the whole country! You can find it in the west of Scotland. It's near the town of Fort William in an area called Lochaber.

Càrn Mòr Dearg is very close to Ben Nevis. Ben Nevis is Scotland's highest mountain. These two mountains are connected by a cool, rocky ridge. This ridge is called the Càrn Mòr Dearg Arête. An arête is a narrow, sharp ridge of rock. It's like a natural bridge between the peaks.

Snow Sports on the Mountain

Càrn Mòr Dearg is also a great spot for snow sports. People who love to ski or snowboard off the main slopes enjoy it here. If the snow conditions are good, you can reach the top. It takes about two hours from the nearby Nevis Range Ski areas.

Skiing and Snowboarding Descents

From the summit, you can ski down to the CIC Hut. This is a long, fun descent. It's considered an easy (Grade 1) route. The eastern side of the mountain has three cool, bowl-shaped areas. These bowls offer more challenging descents. They range from Grade 2 to Grade 5. This means there are options for different skill levels.
