Dallas Soonias (born April 25, 1984) is a talented Canadian volleyball player. He played as a right side hitter for the Canadian Men's National Team. About Dallas Soonias

Dallas Soonias has a special connection to both the Cree and Ojibwe Indigenous communities. His mother is registered with the Cape Croker First Nations reserve. His father is from the Red Pheasant First Nation.

Dallas is married to another volleyball player, Jaimie Thibeault. They both serve as role models for Neechie Gear. This is a clothing brand that gives 5% of its profits to help children join sports. The company's name comes from a friendly Cree greeting.

Connecting with Youth

Dallas works with Indigenous communities to inspire young people. He shares positive messages both on the volleyball court and through storytelling. One example is the Volleyball on the Move Clinic. Through this program, he visited many elementary schools in Whitehorse, Yukon. He worked with Volleyball Yukon to make this happen.

Dallas has also helped coach the men's volleyball team at the University of Alberta. His dedication to sports and community was recognized when he received the Inspire Award in 2021. In 2024, he appeared on Canada Reads, where he supported Jessica Johns's novel Bad Cree.
