Dan Namingha (born in 1950 in Keams Canyon, Arizona) is a famous Hopi painter and sculptor. He is the son of Dextra Quotskuyva and a great-great-grandson of the famous potter Nampeyo. Dan is a member of the Hopi Tribe and lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Early Life and Art Journey
Dan Namingha grew up with his mother on his grandparents' ranch in Polacca, located on the Hopi Reservation. Even as a young child, he loved to draw. He would use coal as his drawing tool and grocery boxes as his canvas!
In elementary school, a teacher noticed that many Hopi and Tewa children were interested in art. The teacher even made a special art space for them. Dan would arrive early to create art there.
