Daneliya Tuleshova (Kazakh: Данэлия Төлешова, romanized: Danelia Töleşova), born on July 18, 2006, is a talented singer from Kazakhstan. She became well-known for representing her country in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Minsk, Belarus. Her song "Ózińe sen" helped her achieve sixth place in the competition.

Before Junior Eurovision, Daneliya won the fourth season of The Voice Kids Ukraine. She was also a finalist in the Children's New Wave 2015. In 2019, she appeared on The World's Best, an American TV show, representing Kazakhstan. She also reached the finals of season 15 of America's Talent.

Her Early Life

Daneliya Tuleshova was born on July 18, 2006, in Astana, the capital city of Kazakhstan. Her parents are Elena and Alexander Tuleshov. She has two younger brothers and sisters.

When she was four years old, Daneliya started practicing ballroom dancing after recovering from a gymnastics injury. She also took classes for contemporary dance, acting, and singing in Almaty. In late 2018, she was a sixth-grader at the Ukrainian Physics and Mathematics Lyceum, where she focused on mathematics. Even though she was born in Astana, Daneliya considers Almaty her hometown.

How Her Career Started

When Daneliya was eight, people noticed her talent at a Kazakh singing competition called Ayaglagan Astana. This competition was a way to choose singers for the famous Children's New Wave, an international music contest for young performers held every year in Russia. In 2015, Daneliya won Ayaglagan Astana and made it to the finals of Children's New Wave. There, she won the Audience Award.

Her Journey to Stardom

Winning The Voice Kids Ukraine and Junior Eurovision (2017–2018)

In January 2017, Daneliya took part in an international singing competition called Hopes of Europe and won the top prize. Later that year, she auditioned for season 4 of The Voice Kids Ukraine. During her Blind Audition, she sang "Stone Cold" by Demi Lovato. All three coaches, Monatik, Natalia Mohylevska, and Vremya i Steklo, wanted her on their team. She chose Monatik.

Daneliya moved through all the stages of the competition and reached the grand final. She performed the song "Ne tvoya viyna" and was announced as the winner at just 10 years old. At that time, she was the first person who was not from Ukraine to win the show.

In March 2018, Daneliya received the Glimpse into the Future Award at the first International Professional Music Premium Bravo Awards in Moscow. After getting her award, she performed the song "Je veux" with French singer Zaz.

On September 22, 2018, Daneliya was chosen to represent Kazakhstan in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Minsk, Belarus. Her song was "Ózińe sen," which she wrote with Artyom Kuz'menkov and Kamila Dairova. Ivan Lopukhov composed the music. In the final competition, she performed third. She received 171 points in total, placing sixth. An English version of her song, called Seize the Time, was released on October 21, 2018.

Competing on The World's Best (2019)

In 2019, Daneliya auditioned for the American TV talent show The World's Best. She sang "Rise Up," originally by Andra Day. In the battle rounds, she won against Manami Ito from Japan, moving her to the champion rounds. There, she performed "What About Us" but was eliminated from the competition, finishing in the top 8.

New Music and America's Got Talent (2020)

In 2020, Daneliya had planned a concert in Texas, United States, but it was canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In February 2020, Daneliya announced that she would start a new music project using the stage name "Da NeL." Her first song as "Da NeL" was "хзчздз" (which means Nobody freakin' knows what the homework is). It was released on YouTube on February 4, 2020. Her second song, "Мой день" (My Day), came out in April 2020. She then released more songs like "OMG" and "FIRE" in May and June 2020.

In June 2020, she auditioned for America's Got Talent. She sang "Tears of Gold" by Faouzia and received a "yes" from all the judges: Simon Cowell, Sofia Vergara, Heidi Klum, and Howie Mandel. Faouzia herself praised Daneliya's performance, calling her voice and stage presence "amazing."

Daneliya moved on to the live shows. On August 18, 2020, she performed "Sign of the Times" by Harry Styles in the Quarterfinals. She advanced to the Semifinals through public vote. In the Semifinals, she sang "Who You Are" by Jessie J and made it to the Finals. For her final performance, she sang Sia's "Alive." She did not make it into the top 5, finishing in 6th place overall.

Signing with 4 Chords Records (2021)

In May 2021, it was announced that Daneliya Tuleshova was named a Flagship Artist for the American music label '4 Chords Records'. Her first song with this label, "Like You Used To," quickly gained over 100,000 streams within days of its release.
