Dardagny is a small town, also called a municipality, in the Canton of Geneva, Switzerland.
In 1978, Dardagny won the Wakker Prize. This award is given to places that do a great job of keeping their old buildings and history safe.

History of Dardagny
Dardagny was first written about in the year 1309. Back then, it was called Dardaniacum. Another village nearby, La Plaine, was first mentioned a bit later, in 1321.
Geography and Nature
Dardagny covers an area of about 8.6 square kilometers (3.3 square miles). A big part of this land, about 61.3%, is used for farming. This means there are many fields and farms.
About 25.9% of Dardagny is covered by forests. This makes it a green and natural place. The rest of the land is used for buildings, roads, or has rivers and lakes.
Dardagny includes two main villages, Dardagny and La Plaine. It also has smaller areas called hamlets, like Essertines and Malval.
People and Population
Dardagny has a population of about 1,500 people. Many people who live here speak French, which is the main language. Some also speak German or English.
