Darryl Gerrod Hardy (born November 22, 1968) is a former American football player. He played as a linebacker in the National Football League (NFL). Darryl played for teams like the Arizona Cardinals, Dallas Cowboys, and Seattle Seahawks. He also won a Super Bowl with the Dallas Cowboys! Before turning pro, he played college football at the University of Tennessee.

Early Life and High School Football
Darryl Hardy grew up in Sharonville, Ohio. He went to Princeton High School. When he was a freshman, he played on the offensive line as a center. The next year, he moved to offensive tackle.
As a senior, Darryl was an amazing offensive guard. He was even named an All-state player! In his very last high school game, he got to play outside linebacker. He made 15 tackles and 4.5 sacks, which are great stats for a single game!
College Football at Tennessee
After high school, Darryl earned a football scholarship to the University of Tennessee. He played linebacker there. By his second year, he was a starter. In one game against the University of Alabama, he made 20 tackles! This was one of the best single-game tackle records in his school's history.
Darryl had a fantastic college career. He finished with 318 total tackles. He also had 4 interceptions, 5 fumble recoveries, and 5 blocked kicks. These are all important plays in football!
Darryl Hardy's NFL Journey
Darryl Hardy was chosen by the Atlanta Falcons in the 1992 NFL Draft. He was the 270th player picked overall. He spent some time on their practice squad.
Playing in Canada
In 1994, Darryl played for the Ottawa Rough Riders in the Canadian Football League (CFL). This league is similar to the NFL but played in Canada.
Time with the Dallas Cowboys
Darryl joined the Dallas Cowboys in 1994. He later returned to the Cowboys in 1995. This was a special time because he was part of the team that won Super Bowl XXX! Even though he didn't play in that specific game, he was a member of the championship team. He played for the Cowboys again in 1997.
Arizona Cardinals and Seattle Seahawks
Darryl also played for the Arizona Cardinals from 1994 to 1995. He played in 5 games for them. In 1997, he joined the Seattle Seahawks. He played on their special teams for the last two games of that season. Darryl decided to stop playing football in 1998.
