Darya Klishina quickly became a top athlete. On June 26, 2010, she made an incredible long jump of 7.03 meters. This was a new record for junior athletes in Russia. Competing in the Olympics
In 2016, there were some rules that stopped many Russian athletes from competing in the 2016 Summer Olympics. This was because of problems with anti-doping rules in Russia. However, Darya Klishina was given special permission to compete. She was the only Russian track and field athlete allowed to go to the Olympics that year.
At first, this decision was changed, and she was told she couldn't compete. Darya immediately said she would fight this decision. She explained that she was a "clean athlete" and had proven it many times. She also mentioned that she had been tested mostly outside of the Russian anti-doping system. After an appeal, the decision was changed again, and Darya was allowed to compete. This happened just before the long jump event began! She made it to the final round and finished in ninth place.
Winning a World Championship Medal
In 2017, Darya Klishina competed in the 2017 World Championships in Athletics in London. She was called an "authorised neutral athlete" because of the ongoing issues with the Russian team.
