Troy Beetles (born June 8, 1988), known by his stage name Datsik, is a DJ and music producer from Canada. He released his first music in the spring of 2009. Since then, he has performed at many places around the world.
Datsik has played at big music festivals. These include Coachella, Ultra Music Festival, EDC Las Vegas, and Shambhala Music Festival. He gets ideas for his music from many different artists. He has said his music sounds "dark and robotic" and also "unique and powerful".

About Datsik's Early Life
Troy Beetles was born on June 8, 1988. His hometown is Kelowna, which is in British Columbia, Canada. His stage name, Datsik, came from his old username on Xbox Live.
He started making dubstep music after seeing another artist, Excision, perform at the Shambhala festival in 2008. Soon after, Datsik and Excision began working together. They released several songs in 2009 and 2010.
Datsik's Music Career
In 2009, Datsik had many songs that became number one on Beatport. This is a popular online music store for electronic music. He has worked with and remixed songs for many famous artists. These include The Crystal Method, Noisia, Wu-Tang Clan, and Diplo.
He has also performed alongside other well-known DJs. Some of these are Steve Aoki, Rusko, Bassnectar, and Skream.
First Album Release
Datsik released his first album, called Vitamin D, on April 10, 2012. It was released through Dim Mak Records and Last Gang Records. The album has 12 songs. It also features other artists like Downlink, Z-Trip, and Infected Mushroom.
Helping Others Through Music
In March 2015, Datsik worked with a music brand called Electric Family. They created a special bracelet. All the money from selling these bracelets went to the Lupus Foundation of America. This foundation helps people who have lupus, a long-term health condition.
Firepower Records Label
In January 2012, Datsik started his own record label. He named it Firepower Records. The name comes from one of his own songs from 2011. Through this label, he has signed many other dubstep and bass music producers. Datsik also released some of his own music on Firepower Records. This includes his Cold Blooded EP and his Let It Burn LP.
