David Cash Jr. (born June 11, 1948) is a former American professional baseball player and coach. He played as a second baseman in Major League Baseball from 1969 to 1980. Dave Cash was a key player for the Pittsburgh Pirates, helping them win the 1971 World Series. He also became a three-time All-Star while playing for the Philadelphia Phillies. He also played for the Montreal Expos and the San Diego Padres. After his playing days, Cash worked as a coach and manager for different baseball teams.

Playing Career
Dave Cash was born in Utica, New York. He started his Major League Baseball (MLB) career in 1969. In his first two seasons, he played in 82 games. He showed he was a good hitter, with a .306 batting average.
Cash became a strong player for the Pittsburgh Pirates. He was known for hitting singles and playing great defense at second base. From 1971 to 1973, he was the Pirates' main second baseman. He helped the team win the 1971 World Series.
After the 1973 season, the Pirates traded Cash to the Philadelphia Phillies.
Time with the Phillies
With the Phillies, Dave Cash became a true everyday player. From 1974 to 1976, he missed only two games. He was chosen for the All-Star team every year during this time. In both 1974 and 1975, he batted .300 or better. He also had over 200 hits in those seasons.
Later Career
After the 1976 season, Cash signed with the Montreal Expos. He had a good year in 1977. However, 1978 was a tougher season for him. By 1979, he was no longer the Expos' starting second baseman. He finished his playing career in 1980. He played part-time for the San Diego Padres.
Coaching Career
After his playing career, Dave Cash became a coach.
In 2006, he was hired as the first base coach for the Baltimore Orioles.
In 2007, he became the manager of the Utica Brewmasters. This team was part of the New York State League. It was based in his hometown of Utica, New York.
In 2008, Cash worked as the hitting coach for the Sussex Skyhawks. This team played in the CAN-AM League. The Skyhawks won the 2008 CAN-AM League Championship. They beat the Quebec Capitales 3 games to 0.
In 2010, Cash was the hitting coach for the Yuma Scorpions.

- Dave Cash was part of a special moment in baseball history. On September 1, 1971, the Pittsburgh Pirates had a starting lineup made up entirely of Black and Latino players. This was believed to be the first time this happened in Major League history.
- The players in that lineup were: Rennie Stennett, Gene Clines, Roberto Clemente, Willie Stargell, Manny Sanguillén, Dave Cash, Al Oliver, Jackie Hernández, and Dock Ellis.
