Delano Peak, pronounced deh-LAH-no, is the highest point in the Tushar Mountains. It is also the tallest mountain in both Beaver and Piute counties. The Tushar Mountains are the third-highest mountain range in Utah. Only the Uinta Mountains and the La Sal Range are taller.
How Tall is Delano Peak?
Even though it's very tall, Delano Peak is not the absolute highest mountain in Utah. At least 31 other peaks in the state are even taller! Still, its elevation of 12,174 feet (3,711 meters) makes it a giant among mountains.
Who Was Delano Peak Named After?
The mountain got its name from Columbus Delano (1809–1896). He was the United States Secretary of the Interior during the time of President Ulysses S. Grant. The Secretary of the Interior is a government official who manages public lands and natural resources.

Delano Peak receives a good amount of precipitation throughout the year. The wettest months are typically winter and spring.
